ART IN BARRIO LOGAN
Barrio Logan is home to a thriving artists' community, with a rich cultural tradition headlined by the district's crown jewel,
Chicano Park. The park is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is an iconic destination where visitors can explore
Chicano history in one of the largest collections of public murals in North America. The art community in Barrio Logan has taken
a nod from Chicano Park and is home to numerous artist collectives, galleries and events including the monthly Barrio Art Crawl.
Logan Avenue Consortium (LAC)
The LAC & Barrio Logan Association present The Barrio Art Crawl. Join us every second Saturday of the month for a free self guided tour consisting of murals, open studios, galleries, and local businesses throughout the Barrio Logan Cultural District in San Diego California. Enjoy art, live music, food, vendors and more. Free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
La Bodega Gallery located in the heart of Barrio Logan, only a few blocks away from the historic Chicano Park. Doors opened October, 2013 with the aim of creating a welcoming space for both artists and art supporters. Since then, La Bodega has accomplished this goal by welcoming thousands of guests and supported thousands of early and established artists through exhibitions, performance events, screenings and much more. Having hosted over 100 shows that include the popular annual "Dia De Los Muertos Skull Art Show", "Frida Kahlo Art Show", "Perfect 10", and many more. Since its inception, La Bodega Gallery's overall goal was to offer the community direct access to various forms of art and this, will remain its primary focus.
